Meet Judge Shelly Vescogni, Circuit Court Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit of Illinois!
Judge Vescogni is seeking election to continue her service to the citizens of LaSalle, Bureau, and Grundy Counties. She will soon begin her 10th year of judicial experience, presiding over every type of case at the trial court level, and is more than qualified to serve.
An Illinois native, Judge Vescogni takes her commitment to serve the people of Central Illinois seriously. After graduating from Chicago-Kent College of Law, she began employment at the LaSalle County State’s Attorney’s Office. In 2002, she founded Vescogni Law Office, P.C., a practice focused on family law and criminal defense. Prior to her appointment to the bench, her practice was nearly exclusively dedicated to family law litigation and mediation.
In 2016, Judge Vescogni was appointed as an Associate Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit.
In April 2025, the Illinois Supreme Court unanimously appointed Judge Vescogni Circuit Court Judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit. As a circuit judge, she has pledged to uphold the principles of justice and fairness, ensuring that individuals who enter her courtroom are treated with dignity and respect.
Judge Vescogni serves on the Board of Directors of the Illinois Judges Association, as well as the Board of Directors of the Illinois Judges Foundation. She is the Co-Chair of the Pro Bono Committee and 3rd District Chair of the Safety & Security Committee of the Illinois Judges Association. Judge Vescogni is also a faculty member of the Supreme Court’s bi-annual Education Conference, where she teaches her colleagues in the areas of family law and criminal law. She also serves as a New Judge Mentor, a position that was conferred upon her by the Illinois Supreme Court.
